Proving the non-existance of God is tricky, because one would have to know absolutely everything about the universe. Even then, a believer could argue 'but God transcends the universe' and you are back to square one.

Remember, the burden of proof is on the believer. Phenomena like the 'soul' or 'spirit' have been attributed to our evolution. We developed these illusions to aid our survival. After all, we percieve the universe in the first person. That means that to each and everyone one of us we are the centre of the universe. If we were to die, the universe would cease to exist and that is something we can't bear to imagine. That illusion has been our biggest strength because it has prompted us to spread across the face of the world.

On the other hand, it is now proving to be a weakness but attempting to hault our progress. Religious beliefs and practices are the result of our illusion of 'self'. Even to this, however, a believer could say, 'that is part of God's plan'.

Then there is the description of the origin of the universe (that I have given over and over, so just re-read some of my past answers). Although there are now mathematical models showing how the emergence of the entire universe from nothing occured, believers are not satisfied saying 'there is no proof' or saying 'but God transcends that, and it was part of God's plan'.

There is always, of course. the issue of the contradictory nature of God. God is perfect, yet in the Bible He makes mistakes. God planned everything, and yet Satan exists. God gave us free will knowing that we would choose a path away from Him. And all this saddens God (it does say this in the Bible) and pains Him. So even though God knew what would happen, it pained him? Does that mean God likes pain? Is God a masochist? A believer would say 'God has to judge everyone, so this is part of God's plan'.

But surely God would know who is rightious and who isn't, because he made us all. So why would you need to go through the procedure of making a universe and subjecting people to testing from birth until death. The answer comes 'No-one can ever truly understand God. It is all part of God's plan'.

God's plan was for millions of Jews to be killed during the Nazi invasion of Europe. God's plan was for thousands of children to die every day through starvation and hunger. God's plan is for people to be raped and live with the scars and their daughter, every waking moment remembering the pain of the one event that changed their life. God's plan was for murders to kill. God's plan was for children to be sexually assulted.

Is this really God's plan? Yes, a believer will say one of two things. Either 'these things are due to the evil within us, and are our own fault' or 'these things are God's plan'.

But God made us all. He made the rapist and warped their minds so that they would commit the horrible crime. He made the robbers and the muggers and the burglers. He made the child abusers. God made them all knowing what would happen, so how does this make it their fault? Again, the answer comes 'it is God's plan'.

So, what about me saying this. Is this God's plan? The answer a believer would say would be 'Yes. It is God's plan'.

I do not believe in God's plan. Do you?

And THAT is the best evidence I can find.

How can you believe in something that you don't see, taste, feel, smell, or hear. Or believe in a book that was written over 2000 years ago. If you ever read the bible it sounds like someone took some acid and wrote a book. The church or religion was started as a business a pretty damn good one too. Did you ever think about how many wars are started due to religion. How many people have died in "gods" name. They all preach peace and forgiveness but they don't practice it. And did you ever wonder why people pray I've herd all my life from people things happen for a reason it's Gods plan, if he really does have this master plan for everybody why pray it's going against his plan therefore everyone that prays is sinning so everyone who believes in god and prays is actually going against him this is all to confusing for me to believe in.

There is no evidence that there is one. It isn't rational or reasonable to believe in things without any evidence to back it up. You would be stuck with hundreds of thousands of gods and everything else that human imagination.

Not believing in god, is the same as not believing in Odin, Zeus, Ra, Hera, The Great Spirit, Osiris, The Flying Spaghetti Monster and all the others.

For the very same reason I don't believe in flying donkeys : 'cause they don't exist;)

More seriously: Historical records, Epigraphic feedbacks, Archeological findings and Scientific evidences prove that no 'God', understood as an 'omnipresent, omnipotent, eternal being' ever existed;)

The best thing to do is to do what I did. Look inside and ask yourself what you REALLY believe. Are you forcing yourself to believe something that you know isnt true? Dont let anyone think for you, and if you find you really do believe then who am I to tell you otherwise? Be honest with yourself.

What you have believe are your confused mind applied on you feeling and own justification. If you are out of six senses, will you feel there is god or creator? Every theory is based on one way though to go with experienced and own justification to apply on the facts and most of the points are invisible. If one point is not standing, others will be ruined.

I have many reasons, here is my main one: God is supposed to be our "Father" and we, his "Children", he is supposed to love us dearly. I too am a parent, and I can tell you that if I had the power to prevent my children from suffering, be raped , tortured, starving to death or being murdered, I wouldn't stand idly by and watch as it happens and say "You have free will". I would SAVE them. Why would our father who loves us let this happen? I am not saying it is wrong to believe in God, I just choose not to. BTW I am Buddhist (Buddha is not a God)

You have no proof. None whatsoever.
You may have fables, stories and mythology, but actual proof supporting the existence of a magic sky-pixie called god? No, that you don't have.
And that's why I don't believe in god.

where knowledge ends, religion begins.

If your bible is an argument for the degradation of women and the abuse by whipping of little children, I advise you to put it away and use your common sense instead.

Christ says that while they pronounce themselves wise they are actually fools. We can provide all evidence from the bible but they still wont take it.And they have that right to take it or not. But stay close to the lord." Those who have ears let them hear"
