as i florist i say DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
we can spray almost anything to be the color you want it, but #1- it significantly shortens the life of your flowers #2 it is hard to coat the whole flowre so you will likely have white spots showine and #3 it looks TACKY i know it sounds like a good idea in your head, but really, its not. instead, choose a color complimentary to your dresses, if the lilies are the same color as your dresses, they will blend into the dresses in photos when the girls hold their bouquets in front of them. it will look odd. bring your florist a swatch of your dresses and have her make something complimentary, working the color of your dresses in naturally (flowers like roses and carnations come in so many colors its easy to match them) if your color is something like blue, go for hydrangea, if its green, try virbidium hope this helps

RE:
Has anyone ever had dyed calla lilies in a bouquet?
I would like to have calla lilies dyed or sprayed the same color
as my bridesmaid's dresses. One florist said it can't be done and another will do it. I was wondering if anyone has had any dyed calla lilies in their bouquet and how they looked.
Thank you for your help.

I used to work in a flower shop and we would spray just about any flower that the bride requested us to do.
FYI-IT CAN SHORTEN THE LIFE OF THE FLOWER HOWEVER
so if you insist on doing this and they don't quite make it through the entire day, please dont take it out on your florist, he/she was just doing what you asked them to do! LOL.....
What colors are you using for your wedding....there are an assortment of lillies that are naturally colored like stargazer lillies and larger aster lillies...they're different than callas but they're already colored.
Just a suggestion, leave the lillies as is and use a colored ribbon/sash on the bouquet, or a filler flower---baby's breath can be sprayed VERY EASILY to any color. And there are actually a good variety of other light, whimsical filler flowers that are naturally colored that could be added..at least you wouldn't have to worry about your lilles going limp!

I think calla lilies look best alone (in a fuller bouquet). If you add a filler, I think they will look sloppy. What if you did wine colored calla lilies with champagne ribbons around the stems? To add a rustic feel, you could tie small pine cones or fall themed ornaments around the stems.

Dying would prolly not work, I don't think callas have the same sturucture to accept the dye as well as some other flowers. My guess is that she will spray them and I STRONGLY reccomend you gettin her to show you a sample before you go forward with it, I worked at a florist for 2 years and we had to spray things from time to time, and quite often, the flowers didn't look as natural, and not as pretty. seriously, make sure you know what you are gettin with them!

Yes we actually used them in my sister's wedding however they didn't last very long. By the end of the night they were shot. It can be done however the color doesn't blend well and they don't last very long. Instead of dying them I'd try and find a florist that can get you the calla lily in the color that you need. They do come in various colors.

calla lillies come in a beautiful selection of colors. Just a suggestion, you should pick a color that compliments your bridesmaids dress instead of matching the color. For what you are paying for the flowers you want them to stand out. If they match the dresses they will just get lost and will most likely not look that great in photos. Ultimately up to you though. Best Wishes!

When I asked my florist, she told me it "could" be done, but the calla lillies wouldnt last very long, esp for the cost of them. As well, she said callas were one of the flowers which may rub or leak the colour onto dresses and stain them.
Depending on what colour you want, callas do come naturally in some colours.

I had calla lillies at my wedding , there are different colored calla lillies. I had pink mini ones that were beautiful for the girls and the guys had them as well on their tuxedo. Good luck!
