I mean reallly, the wealthiest of us asking us to give to solve the worlds problems. It is truly obsurd, its like the King asking the peasants to feed the lesser peasants while he picks out nice things to buy himself. Bill Gates is funding a Musical Arts program while children world wide are starving. Where are the priorities?

I love your question! There are so many times during "award season" that I begin to tell others if they were to forgo those award banquets and all their lavish gifts and used the money to feed the homeless and less fortunate, we wouldn't have a starving person in America and nobody would have to rest their head on the cold pavement at night.
The sad thing is that nobody wants to bring that aspect into light, because like many others have said, all a celebrity has to do is mention a charity and they are praised for it. It's a bunch of crap and it needs to change.

If celebrities talks about charity, he get more fame in society. The celebrities are the wealthiest people, who become popular by asking others to solve the world problems. For example, Angelina Jolie became famous by adopting orphaned children
and she got more Hollywood film offers after adopting orphaned children. Bill Gates is funding a Musical arts Programs because
the musicians are skilled and he need to invest less on this program. For thy percent children of worldwide are suffering from starvation. The huge amount of money is required to evade starvation. The less amount of money is required for Musical
Arts program as well as Musicians can use his Company name in the song to make his company name popular.

Some do ask for us to give.
But there many that ask for nothing of us, and use their own to fund programs, that feed, give medical care. There are artist that have built hospitals for sick children, hospice for terminally ill, clinics and do not broadcast what they do.
As for Bill Gates and funding a Preforming Arts Program I see no problem in that.
We are losing state funds for such programs, and that is a program for kids serious about the arts...dance, music, art, etc. that would not have a start or chance without this program

Loads of celebrities give to feed people. Some don't say because its not anyone business to know who gives what and to whom. It is very important to understand that Musical Arts programs help build minds. Those minds grow so that they can take care of themselves.
Has it not been said give a man a fish and feed him today or teach him to fish and feed him for the rest of his life?
So if we feed all the people on the planet today... what about tomorrow? They need that too. I think that what celebrities are doing is giving a voice to the common good. Which is never wrong. But they are often criticized for it.

Celebrities bring their own money and time, and also increase awareness of the causes they choose to support. Not everyone will be interested in every charity.
As far as I'm concerned, it beats using celebrities to sell stuff, which is done all the time.

You make a good point. I ask myself that same question often. I guess the rich and wealthy people come to the common folks for help because after all it was the common folk that made them rich and wealthy, so I guess they think we can make the starving and poor rich and wealthy too......lolololol
