The website 'A Door into Hindi' has many free lessons online to learn Hindi. Each lesson has vocabulary, grammar, explanations, exercises and a video of real spoken Hindi using the vocabulary introduced in the lesson. You should give it a try!

You can probably learn on line but independent study is still the key. One must get tapes and a book or two in conjunction with any on line study.

I never studied it but lived and worked in India and picked up a lot of it just hearing it. It didn't see difficult to speak/comprehend -- not sure about reading and writing since never tried that.

i don't think its that hard to learn..watch hindi shows with english subtitles..u'll pick up the language fast...
