I named a rescue kitten Purry Mason since he had the LOUDEST purr. His sister, who we kept is a red tabby female. We named her Eleanor Rosypelt.

When I worked for vets, we had someone who stopped & recused a dog off the highway from certain death - they kept him & named him 'Freeway".

Another guy found a cat hiding under an old truck at the auto repair shop he worked at covered in fuel. He took him home, cleaned him up & named him for that : 'Diesel'.

I think it would be funny to name a basset hound shorty, and name a dachshund longfellow.
