well, i would venture to say that to the egocentric nomadic goat herders who devised the myth it's the human, specifically the male human, that is the most important creation in the universe. you can tell because the entire universe, the earth, sun, moon, stars, all the plants and animals were created just to support and entertain humans. the Sun not only circles around the Earth but the entire vastness of the Universe circles around humans, specifically the male human.
PS. note that when religious folks say "God" is the most important "thing" in the universe it's specifically a male god so by projected extension the male human remains the most important thing in the universe.

The people that wrote Genesis believed that the Earth was the center of the universe, and that the sun and moon were the universe's primary source of light.
Just like every other early religion. It's not even very original, seeing as how the early parts of Genesis are a condensed version of Sumerian creation myth.
Apparently "being inspired by god" doesn't translate into facts.
