Normally you would use fresh blueberries, which would cook individually in the batter while the muffins are baking. If you mix the pie filling throughout the batter, it will actually make your muffins look green (tried it once) and it will just make your muffins come out wrong. It will work better to make filled muffins, here's a good recipe from cooks.com. Just substitute the pie filling for the preserves, it may be a little runnier than preserves and may leak out of the muffins a little, but they will taste good.

FRUIT FILLED MUFFINS
2/3 c. milk
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 egg
2 c. Bisquick baking mix
1/4 c. fruit preserves

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease bottom of 12 cup muffin pan. Mix all ingredients except preserves and glaze. Fill muffin cups 2/3 to 3/4 full. Place 1 level teaspoon preserves in center of batter in each cup. Bake 13-18 minutes or until brown. Cool slightly, remove from pan. Drizzle with glaze. Makes 1 dozen muffins.

GLAZE:
Stir 2/3 cup powdered sugar and 3-4 teaspoons water in small bowl until smooth.
