It doesn't matter if it is, because developing the technology for peaceful purposes will also give them access to nuclear weapons technology and that simply can not happen. If we have to nuke Iran first than so be it. I have nothing against the Iranian people but when you have nut jobs who say that Israel must be wiped off the map and the holocaust never happened, better to kill them now than wait for them to kill us.

Despite the paranoid delusions of some Iran's nuclear program is mostly civil however I am quite sure a healthy 20-30% of it is working on the bomb. When they get the bomb they will find just like all the other nuke powers that they have a very expensive dust collector on their hands. It will guarantee that countries security from foreign powers but that is it. They are not suicidal despite the terrorist tactics you people associate them with. The Iranians now that to attack Israel or the USA with nukes or anything else is suicidal of course that won't stop either side from talking trash to one another.

You do not need 25,000 gas centrifuges for CIVILIAN nuclear power. If Iran gets them all up and running, it can run them for a week and have enough enriched uranium to run their civil program for 400 years. Hardly a cost effective way of running a civilian program.
But if you want nuclear weapons, that is enough centifuges to make 2-3 bombs a month.... Now that is cost effective.
But not to worry... Between NOV 08 and JAN 09, Iran will go from a nuclear nation to a nation with a lot of deep, radioactive holes where their nuclear assets use to be.

If Iran's nuclear program were peaceful then the UN inspectors would not have discovered the traces of weapons grade uranium.
There is simply no peaceful use for weapons grade uranium.

Iran's lunatic president said he will nuke Israel. I've never heard of a peaceful civil-oriented nuking of another country.

Why would it, they have all the oil they would ever need to use for power generation.
Everyone better wake up and pay attention to what is going on in the world.

Probably not, but it doesn't really matter. It's their country. Now if they start aiming/firing missiles at people, then we have a problem.
