Yes it does, they have no respect for anything they do not believe in. But yet they expect us to respect them.

I do not see this often. I am not an atheist I do not see profanity.
Now blasphemy.. that is the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence for God b: the act of claiming the attributes of deity. Since they do not believe in God than its not blasphemy to them but to Christians. As for disrespect. I have seen many on here that have asked their questions in a most respectful way.
But I have seen some that have not. I have also see Christians that throw out a great deal of disrespect to atheist as well as people of other faiths just because they feel they are right and the rest of the world is wrong.
It is a two way street that often end at a dead end.

Atheists are not the only ones who do that. I have seen people set up decent questions merely as bait so they can use it later against people of other faiths or those without faith.
As for making someone cry.... well, no one forced them to be here. Obviously they need to work on getting thick-skinned. If someone actually made me cry over how they respond to me or my beliefs, I would have to rethink about how strong I am in it. I would also have to look at why I was responded to in that manner. I don't get responses like that, even when I am stating some of my beliefs. I, as a person, have been shown respect by Atheists, even though I know they disagree with my personal beliefs. So obviously it's a communication problem somewhere... Instead of pointing fingers, why not try to figure out where that problem is.

I do not think being an atheist means that your conversational style is one of profanity in fact many who hoold strong to values instilled by parents can show a great deal of profanity.
Blasphemy is a matter of opinion, if your personal religious ideals say it is blasphemy to not believe in god than it is blasphemy for an atheist to speak honestly when asked their views. This doesn't make their views wrong just different.
Nor does it make their views disrespectful. Many of my relatives come from different races and groups. One branch of the family would mourn at a wake, while another would party, the group that would party does not party when going to the wake of the group that would not, and vise versa neither is disrespectful for honoring their own anscestors ideals on this. But that doesn't mean that they have to agree on what makes a traditional wake.
Nor does it speak of a lack of character.
Actually there are quite a few Atheists whose character shoul be admired and respected rather than pass the buck they take responsiblity for their own actions.
While I do feel there is some Divine Source this does not mean I consider all those religions, that differ from my views to be atheistic, nor do I consider anyone wrong for their difference.
Different does not mean right,
Different does not mean wrong,
Different means different.
Sister Gemma [a Roman Catholic nun] 1975 when speaking on the views of those from different religions.

As much as it speaks of the character of the religious folk who do exactly the same thing.
And no, most atheist answers do not have profanity. Blasphemy is moot, since we don't believe in your gods. Disrespect only to those who earn it. Kinda like you've earned it with your presumptuous and rude questions this morning.
Edit : You're using one example of one guy who's an atheist to represent all atheists? You've just lost what little credibility you had left.

I never use profanity because a good comic can tell a joke without the need for it.It isn't blasphemy if the person saying what they are saying doesn't believe in blasphemy. In fact, the word blasphemy is an over used word.Humor is a sign of respect.I have been told I am a real character and I play several characters in plays.

I only use a disrespectful, or mocking tone, when I'm answering a question that I find offensive or ignorant. This question is borderline....it has the ignorance of making a generalization about a large group of people, but it's not phrases in a particularly offensive tone.
The question that I have for you is......do most Christian answers support discrimination against various groups of people? Does that speak to their character?
and....
Do most Christians engage in genocidal behavior torwards Jews (over the course of their history), and does that speak to their character?
If you are going to try and talk about character, I'd take a look at a lot of people calling themselves Christians on this site.
P.S......most Christians are not like this....i'm sure we get a higher percentage of extremist whack jobs.

You proffer, many before you, that atheists are of bad character and are rude & crude persons, which is in error. Person do not have to beleive as you and others do to be decent people, in fact you display a narrow minded view that is counter to your christian( or whatever religious sect) beliefs/teachings. So, obviously being of that nature, as your question clearly implies, you yourself are a blasphmer and disrespectful of ourown supossed ethics and morality. Go look in the mirror.

Why don't you find out the answer to that question yourself and provide us with a few examples? I don't have a concept of blasphemy, and in what way does this question or some of the respondents to it convey respect? You check your own characters before you start on anyone else's. This is one of those mote and beam moments you know (and that's in the bible).

My answers rarely have profanity. Though profanity is appropriate at times.
In this forum, they usually are blasphemous because I advocate against religion. I consider blasphemy to be a good thing. We must break this taboo on critiquing religious beliefs.
My answers carry as much respect as the question deserves.
Yes, it speaks well of my character.

Most people become atheist BECAUSE of the Bible & the cruelty & contradictions contained in the Bible .However if you find citing some of the inane beliefs and laws contained in the Bible as profanity, blasphemy & disrespectful,so be it.
