You are so right. Although I believe that there are some athiests that silently have their belief and don't bash- it sure seems that they bash because they are afraid to face the truth and admit that God does indeed exist.

What gives you the right to decide what I respect, what I believe in, or how I live my life? I'm no more or less rude than anyone else, and certainly less than you're being right now. It's the height of rudeness to make assumptions about an entire group of people based on what you see on an anonymous message board service. If you see us as being rude, it's most likely retaliatory. I call it like I see it out in the real world, and I'm going to do the same here. I have experience of so called christians out here in RL, and they all do what you have just done - assumed I have no respect, no moral code, because I don't share their delusion. You don't seem to understand that it takes more strength to stand on what you believe and take personal responsibility than to give your life to some mythical story. Tell you what - maybe we might consider toning down the "rudeness" if you all would stop doing to us what you accuse us of all the time.

Haven't meet many atheists but the ones I have were not rude, they did have such a thing as common courtesy.
No religion can determine common courtesy to other human beings. Though Many will use their religious ideals to be rude, cruel, even violent and criminal.
Not all jusst some.
Labels don't determine a persons behavior that is an individual choice.

Religion didn't invent morality. In fact, it is a poor guide for morality.
I am an atheist. I have a family that I love, a country I enjoy living in, and am part of the human race. I have compassion for others, as do all humans. That group bonding thing is instinctual.
I do have deep respect for beliefs that deserve respect. The belief in God isn't one of them. That belief has no reason to be respected. I have many obligations. I have a code, but it is a personal code and would take too long to list it here. And atheists rarely bash. They tend to be good-hearted people. I realize that challenging your religious beliefs may seem like bashing, but really we're trying to educate. We think it is sad that you settle for such pat answers and are encouraged to be so apathetic about the world.

I agree with the man above (the asker) but what i dont agree with is dis-respect... unless of ocurse someone has shown disrespect towards me...
Like the two Christians who stood on my doorstep this morning, chatting happily away to me, and not once did they even ASK me what my belief is... all they did was preach. They saw my son standing in the hall and started talking to him about Jesus Christ, that was the last straw... they lost my respect.

I believe that religion and manners aren't necessarily tied together. Manners usually come about in association with a group's traditions, etc. Handshakes, not interrupting others, lending a hand to others, opening doors for women are all signs of manners or local customs - not necessarily religious beliefs.
I doubt anyone offers good manners, etc because of anticipated rewards in the after-life.
God bless :)

Why do i have to believe in god to be a respectful and nice person? I'll have you know that I work in a police department and help people every single day and everyone who meets me thinks i'm one of the sweetest people they've ever seen. Just because we have no belief in god doesn't mean we have no belief in morality and honor.

Being rude will not do either you or the recipient any good. Neither of you are likely to learn very much. Converse in a civil manner and you will learn a lot more.

What does morality and being nice to people have to do with religion? I certainly don't see those behaviors in the majority of the people who define themselves as Xian.

Neither one seems that stable on Y!A. between the two certainly one of them, this classification gets noticeably obnoxious & no longer a stable occasion of a honest replace of recommendations. the two certainly one of them provide the impact of wanting to straighten actual everybody out with their own evaluations. in accordance to the Christians, if the earth ended at present, God could assemble up the Christians as co-rulers of heaven & the universe, together as actual everybody else is going off to hell. in accordance to the atheists, no one could bypass everywhere. actual everybody could all bypass into unaware nothingness. As for at present, nicely, they are asserting, you will extra advantageous come to your senses & choose for the place you belong, this is, on which of those 2 sides. the two you're with us or against us, they seem to declare. Even the atheists look confident that everybody different than atheists is wanting to start pressuring Congress to bypass some form of rules that would desire to impose a perception in God, a social gathering of Christmas, or regardless of this is they worry maximum. I asked a question as quickly as approximately their ideals. They could no longer purely say that they did no longer have any. in addition they proceeded to tell me those type of rules that i replaced into somewhat attempting to bypass & different issues that i replaced into supposedly doing to atheists. Me, the only that called for an end to a Christmas tree & blinking lighting fixtures in our workplace? Me? Oh, spectacular. It replaced into completely impolite, the failings that they assumed. do no longer dare to ask them a question till you get exhilaration from being hammered. As for the Christians, they love no longer something extra advantageous than chatting with a Senior Citizen like me as though she's a youthful ignorant ingenue who purely ought to be straightened out by potential of analyzing the Bible. this is noticeably impolite, too. the main effective question I somewhat have right here, inspite of the shown fact that, is why the atheists are even in this classification. useful, each individual can take part in any classification, yet they on no account say why they are so fascinated interior the religion & Spirituality classification. As for the Christians, in the event that they have no longer something this is open to communicate or interpretation, i do no longer see why they are right here the two. With that for the duration of recommendations, i do no longer spend plenty time right here the two. seems type of pointless.
