No vitamin tablet is better than the natural foods , eat plenty of green vegetables like spinach , All fruits , peanuts ( 20 raw seeds), cashew nuts ( 2 nos) , almonds ( 2 nos) , sprouts (20 grms) 1 teaspoon of honey, figs ( 2 nos) dates ( 2 nos) goose berry ( one a day during the season) , cod liver oil ( 1 table spoon) . Take all the above as much as you can as per the season and your taste also add the following spices for getting good resistance and better health. Ginger, black pepper, cloves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, corinder seeds, turmeric, curry leaves, Asofotedia etc, If you follow all the above you need not take any vitamins at all and you will have the best health until you are 90 year or above and doing yoga every day would be an added advantage for your health.

Try to get vitamins from food. See the first site below which tells about the few nutrients that are hard to get from food and why. But a grapefruit or orange is better for you than a vitamin C pill.

It is good to supplement with superfoods, the most nutrient dense foods. Unlike with vitamins, you can feel a difference eating superfoods like in greens drinks that have spirulina, chlorella, barley grass and wheat grass. If you look them up, you find experts saying that each one of them is the best one. See this page for info on several of them.

Like all docs say, no vitamin tablets are better than vegetables and fruits. But in our ever-busy lifestyles, its practically impossible for people to intake a daily, regular and consistent amount of different types of vegetables and fruits. But you can always take extra vitamin tablets if you are concentrating on certain results. In the sense that, if you are result oriented on the health of your hair, or skin or general immunity, you should take vitamins accordingly.

Just like how you have described, I was taking a variety of different vitamins separately. I used to use code liver oil capsules, calcium and zinc cobalt tablets. Then, I heard that if you take separate vitamins, without consulting your doc, you may end up overdo it, end up with kidney stones. And thus, I moved to using one very good multivitamin pill a day for my hair. I use the brand Puritan's Pride (www.puritan.com) currently and the results are very good.

Another thing to note is, if you are using one multivitamin tablet, after the bottle gets over, change the brand cos else it wont have the same effect as the first course due to resistance of your body.

I would not consider Vitamin Water a replacement. You will have to drink more Vitamin water as your hydration source because the water is bonded to artificial flavorings, colorings, etc. If you really 'hate' water, try adding lemon and/or lime to give it some flavor. But filtered water is by far the best water you can drink.

Best to eat more nutritional food, and less "supplements". Check out PRESCRIPTION FOR NUTRITIONAL HEALING by the Balch's. Most vitamins are water soluble, so the body can cope easily with a small excess.

I take a Vitamin E, a flax seed oil (this is a good one!), and a multi-vitamin. If you don't take Flax seed oil-it's very healthy for your immune and heart system!
