ill getting a dog (golden retriever) any tips

Is this a puppy you're getting? If so...
1- set up an appointment w/ a vet to get started on puppy shots
2- crate train if it's to be an indoor pet
3- First time dog owner??? Find some good books to educate yourself, they're very helpful. You can also find lots of useful info on the web.
4- Have lots of patience.

keep up the boundaries,don't change the rules,walk it everyday you'll thank yourself for it and so will the dog they are so much happier and well behaved if you do that.get it desexed.pretend to eat their dinner before giving it to them,make sure it knows who's top dog.don't hit it.as many trainers say reward good behaviour and correct bad.good luck with everything.check out victoria stilwell's advice and cesars ? he was on oprah and has some great tips he also has a show on national geographic www.ngcdogwhisperer.com have fun, love lots and be calm.enjoy................... :)

look after it well keep it active and feed it properly etc let it have a bit of freedom.
Most important of all, have fun with it. Do not neglect the dog.

Give her a lot of love. Train her well. They are great family dogs.
