My wife are going on vacation next month and we will have 4 dayd we can spend in either Hong Kong or Thailand. Which should we choose?

That's a tough decision, I live in Bangkok and Hong Kong is one of my favorite places. I assume you're talking about Bangkok when you say Thailand, although you shouldn't overlook the beaches and islands here. Here's a quick comparison: BKK very cheap, HK very expensive, HK- naturally beautiful (the harbor, the peak, Hk island, beaches) BKK no natural beauty, ugly architecture, both have world-class hotels, both have world class food, both have a great nightlife, both have fascinating cultures, although Thailand's is more exotic and different than western culture, HK is crowded with great public transportation, BKK is terribly congested with fair public transportation, HK is clean and very "efficient," BKK is not as clean and very ineffcient, HK people are nice (sometimes), Thai's are some of the nicest, most gracious and hospitable people on earth (most of the time).
I better stop here, I think if it's your first time Asia I would choose Hong Kong, if you had more time I would choose Thailand, mainly because Thailand is so much more than just Bangkok. Whichever you choose, you can't go wrong, good luck!

Definately Thailand, if I were you. Its both exotic, magic an spicy. Very reasonable in price too. One third of what you will pay in Hong Kong!
Last year, I went to both with my family and then proceeded to China. Our costs in Hong Kong for just one day was more than what we had spent in Thailand for one week, inclusive of accomodation, food and transport.

I'd go for Thailand. Hong Kong is basically a big city with too many people, too many buildings too close together, and too much traffic. I haven't been to Thailand, but its a big place with lots of diversity. But then, this is only one person's opinion.

Such a easy choice. Just determine what kind of a holiday both of you want - city-type attractions (HK), or more (Thailand). But I feel 4 days in Thailand is not practical as there's just too much to see and do. Go to dimsum land.

My friend is in Thailad at the moment for 11 days and loves it. She said its really cheap for everything. Shes been to the jungle for a couple of days, swam in the lake under a huge waterfall and having a ball. Although she did say Bangkok stinks!

The answer "Either" couldn't be truer of any two places on the planet. You'll have a wonderful time, whichever of these two you choose.
