The church teaches that Jesus Christ is the son of God, who taught all His gospel and the way to return to live with God the Father. Christ's birth, atonement, death and resurrection provide the means whereby God's children can be resurrected and redeemed from their sins through repentance. The church teaches that after the death of Christ and His apostles, some important doctrinal teachings were changed over time from Christ's original teachings; thus necessitating a restoration of His Church and true doctrines before the Second Coming.

And we are NOT associated with Free Masons! Our Temple is a sacred place of worship, Just as the Vatican for the Catholic Church, The Weeping Wall for the Jewish Faith, and Mecca for the Muslim Faith.

Because Satan himself knows the church is true but has twisted others' hearts so they are hateful towards the church...think about it...the gospel brings about salvation, and what does Satan NOT want for Heavenly Father's children? Salvation, happiness, eternal family, etc...all that our Heavenly Father offers through the only complete and true gospel on the earth, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

permit's see. Your difficulty-free generic Christian have self assurance that that's a sin to function to the be attentive to god, meaning that to function words to the bible is heresy and punishable by eternal damnation. So, the thought folk persist with Smith's addition to the bible (the books of Mormon & Abraham) is basically against their faith. Then there are the antiquated 'gender roles' that offend many present day female. The history of polygamy that grew to become into lds (pre 1890) nonetheless leaves human beings a sprint positioned off, surprisingly different Christians. The temple admission regulations leads a lot of human beings to have self assurance lds is a 'secret society' of kinds. Then there are the multiple comments of folk in lds fundamental factors (Slat lake city) and agencies the place non-lds have little to no probability at progression previous particular mid point positions for no reason different then faith practices. And the checklist is going on. One significant concern human beings have with lds is the proselytizing...it rather is to assert their tries to transform others by knocking on their doorways. human beings don’t like door to door revenues adult adult males, and definitely dislike those that are advertising faith. So, at the same time as you're able to think of there is "No reason", you are able to of course see that folk DO have reason. i in my opinion don’t think of they choose any reason different then the actuality which you have self assurance in some mythical being, yet having stated that, maximum others do too. ~~

I'd say much of the hate comes from ignorance, insecurity, or lack of basic respect for those different from themselves. As you can tell from many of the responses, most people really don't know that much of the Mormon faith, and what they do know they have generally learned from those who are opposed to the church. It's unfortunate people feel they have to degrade or tear down others for any reason. We should all be respectful of others regardless of faith. Something different will always be difficult to digest. When I study religions I put myself in the shoes of it's members and learn from those who believe, that is the only way.

There is the problem Christians have with LDS.

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

There will always be people rejecting, because there are people that are sheep of the Lord.

Take our saviour for instance, did he not give people truth and love, did he not heal the sick and the blind, yet some people hated him, and crucify him.

Christ said:
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
(New Testament | John 10:26 - 27)

Two words - Joseph Smith. A liar and a drunk.

We're supposed to believe he found seer stones and gold plates with a new testament on them in the woods. That Adam and Eve came from Arkansas, and the Native Americans are actually Jews who crossed over through ancient Russia to what is now Alaska.

Your church is no different in it's forms of mind control and fear of hell than any other christ-based church. It's doctrines and background, however, are certainly the strangest. Yet people believe it. As far as comparisons to scientology are concerned, both "faiths" are based on the words of men who, in rational terms, were either mad or otherwise just wrong. L. Ron Hubbard set up a church to bash psychiatry while still under a shrink's care. Now we get Tom Cruise jumping up and down on Oprah's couch.
I personally don't hate the LDS, no more than I hate any other religion. I do hate how they try to actively propagate themselves by bothering people in their homes like some kind of stray dog who's been fed but won't go away.

Not hate, I just wish they would leave me alone. I am a christian now and they keep sending the next round of missionaries to me, they even cornered my son on my property and told him, he was suppose to be going to church. I don't hate them, I think they are lost like an Easter egg. I know this because I use to be one of them. Knowing that God was once a man and that man can become God is paganism not christianity. The temple is a freemason temple and in the temple we learn that Mary had sex with God when the Holy Ghost came over her because in the preexistance she was marriade to him. There are also two theologies in the church besides the church being based on paganism and fremasondry...knowledge that those who went to the temple know and knowledge that those who have not went to the temple know, just like the levels in freemasondry. Shall I go on...shall I discuss the prejudism and sexual abuse and depression rampid in the church (yes every religion has sexual abusers hiding in it).

Two reasons: People don't like having the beliefs they already have challenged in any way.

They are ashamed (subconsciously) they don't display their own beliefs as openly as the LDS. They don't want to see their dislike comes from dislike of their own actions and not from the actions of LDS who are openly demonstrating their faith.

Because people fear the new and unknown. Rather than to learn about it and understand it (whether they want to join or not) - they choose to spread rumors about the church and it's beliefs. I feel for the people that do this. Just because the LDS aren't a break off of the Catholic church doesn't mean that they don't have the truth.

I don't hate people in the LDS. I just don't agree that Joseph Smith wrote the Book of Mormon. I believe the Book of Mormon is from SAtan to lead people astray. I also don't understand this concept of every man in LDS will get his own planet. Nothing was changed from Chriost original teachings. No book shall be added or deleted fromthe Holy Bible and that is what the Book of Mormon is in my point of view.
