I have a dog whom I've had for a couple of years now, but he only comes to me when he wants food. All of the other times, he's with my room mate. I really wanna know some way to make my dog love me too!

I'm sure he does love you, but he's looking at your roommate as the alpha. If you'd like him to spend more time with you, then you need to do more for and him. ie; grooming, taking for walks, training, etc.
You should start by training him. You need to make him do what you say....nicely! Start easy with sit, then progress to lay, stand, stay and come without bribing him. After that, if you want to progress to tricks, that's cool. With you telling him what to do, he will then look at you as if you are the alpha. In turn, he's going to want to watch your every move. They're that way by nature.

Start training the dog, teach him some tricks or basic sit, stay, down sort of things. Take him for walks and teach him both "heel" and "walk" (heel is very strict right by my side and walk is a little more relaxed, just don't pull on the leash). You can't make a dog love you but you certainly can give the dog a reason to see you as something other than the "food dispenser."

You cannot "make" a dog love you, but if you reward him after activities he does with you, he will come to associate you with the reward. Dogs see us as members of their pack, and their respect and love are earned by us behaving like pack leaders. As Cesar Millan says, the magic formula for dogs is: exercise, discipline, reward, in that order.

you cant make a dog love you, just like you cant make a person love you. Its the same as how we dont love everybody just because they are nice, we can still like them but it doesnt mean we love them. You cant make a dog love you

dogs are very touchy. they liked to be cuddled and hugged all the time.. Sometimes try talking to your dog as if you're talking to a friend.. dogs are smart, you know! and the best trick of all so that your dog will love you.. treat him/her as a human being. i know that's silly.. but thats the best way.

hey.....keep feeding it....dont let ur roommate feed it....keep petting it n wen it does sumthing gud giv it a treat...wen u come back frm school/college/work... giv it a biscuit and keep loving it...try to see wht the dog loves tht ur room mate does.....in due time the dog will come to u....temme how it works out
