You have to start over with training:
Get a long lead. While pulling on the lead, say the command "here" or "come". Although you're doing the pulling, it will reinforce the act. When you have pulled the dog to you, give it praise (some prefer treats, but I never use treats to praise, I use affection).
Do this several times, each time the dog should be more willing to come to you on it's own. Never say the command more than once; this only teaches him that he doesn't have to come on first command. If you have to, physically go and get him and bring him back to the spot where you were, then praise him.
Never, ever, ever, call your dog to you for punishing him because he will relate punishment with obeying you.
Do this exercise in short increments in order to keep his attention; a bored dog is a distracted dog. You should also start in an area with no distraction, then work your way up to outside where there's more noise. This teaches him that he needs to pay attention to you and not his surroundings.
* When taking him for a walk on a leash, always walk out the door first, this shows him that you are dominant. And never let him walk in front of you; make him walk behind or beside you. You have to show him you're in charge of the walk, not him.

Sometimes, it just happens it's nothing to do with you and the dogs expectations of life doesn't match with yours. It could be the dog is not happy, it could smell another animal in heat or simply not getting enough attention. If your dog is not givin the proper attention on a daily basis, it's a good reason for the dog to want to leave. Some good tips would be, change the food, walking your dog on a regular basis, talking to your pet, grooming the pet more often and basically treating the dog more less like a family member might help as well. Good luck.

Hi Taylor J
The first problem, running away when called, is the action of a dog that was not taught the "Come" command properly, and the owner is probably chasing after the dog. If your dog decides to run away from you, do not chase after him. Chase is a dog's favorite game, and all that yelling and name-calling makes him believe that you are having as much fun as he is. Since they enjoy this game of chase so much, turn the tables on him, and have him chase you. Call his name, clap your hands, say all the things you would if you were chasing him, and you run away from him. Your dog will believe you are playing, but the roles have been reversed and now he is the one chasing you. When he is within reach of you, grab him, and praise him for coming..... please article: Running Away - http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/Running_Away/

that´s the mistake you are making, running after him , by doing this he thinks you want to play, just ignore him , walk away don´t look at him & he will come to you . When your dog dose come to you make sure you give him a treat , like this next time you call him he will come straight away as he knows he´s been good & will geta reward

Well when taking hi mout for a walk, get a leash.
If he just runs out when you open your door, make sure it's i na different room, or ery far away. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest putting him in a room.

Some dogs are prone to runniing...either really dumb (sorry) or just instinct...I finally got an electric fence and had a wanderer who was the dumbest dog ever, really...it worked..not that much $ and it kept him in the yard...good luck...
