Islam (religion of muslims) follows a 13 month lunar calendar and the last month is called Ramadan. In this month muslims will fast from dawn til dusk, not letting any food or water pass their lips in daylight hours. At the end of ramadan theres a big celebration called eid, sort of like the Islamic Christmas but with a whole lot more food!!!

This article is about Islamic religious observances in the month of Ramadan. For the actual calendar month, see Ramadan (calendar month).
The fourth pillar of Islam which is fasting is also called Ramadan (in Arabic: رمضان, Ramaḍān) – or Ramzan in several countries – and it is the ninth month of the Islamic (Hijri) calendar, established in the year 638. It is considered the most venerated, blessed and spiritually-beneficial month of the Islamic year. Prayers, fasting, charity, and self-accountability are especially stressed at this time; religious observances associated with Ramadan are kept throughout the month. God prescribes daily fasting for all able, adult Muslims during the whole month of Ramadan, beginning with the sighting of the new moon.
