Every morning I wake up and I cannot open my jaw passed half way. I have to click it to the side and then open to be able to open it every time, but eventually goes away. Any idea what it is and/or how to get rid of it?

The joint where your lower jaw attaches to the base of your skull is called the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Saying that someone "has TMJ" is like saying they "have elbow" if their elbow is bothering them. You most likely have TMJD, or temporomandibular joint disorder. It is most common in people who clench and/or grind their teeth. The most common and least invasive treatment is to have a dentist make an occlusal guard, or bite splint that is worn at the time you clench/grind the most. Generally this is at night for most people, but occasionally people need to wear something all day (except when eating). See a dentist and mention the problem to him/her. Best of luck to you.

Yes, TMJ. You are probably grinding your teeth in your sleep and that is why it bothers you more when you wake up. See a dentist. They can recommend a devise that you can easily sleep with that goes in your mouth which will protect your teeth from the effects of grinding, and keep the TMJ from flaring.

Welcome to my life. The world of TMJ ive had it for about 10yrs now... i went thru braces, and a mouth guard, and a retainer, and finally, my jaw bite is corrected and i no longer have that problem anymore..the important thing is you see an ortho about it, bc if you ignore this problem, your jaw disk will get ruined even more and you will need surgery, i guranetee it.

What are the symptoms of tetanus?

A common first sign of tetanus is muscular stiffness in the jaw (lockjaw), followed by stiffness of the neck, difficulty in swallowing, rigidity of abdominal muscles, spasms, sweating and fever.

I doubt very seriously you have that go to Your Dentist and have him take X Rays..

This is TMJ syndrome. You need to get to a dentist or chiropractor specializing in these things and get it seen to.

Do you opened your mouth all night when you sleeping? Maybe try to get up once awhile to have a sip of water.
