Hello there.
Hon, the first thing you need to do is see your doctor! Sex is not supposed to hurt, but then you know that. Find out what the cause of the pain is, that should be your first priority.
While you are at the doctors talk to her frankly about your feelings. She will probably want to order some simple lab work to make sure that your hormonal levels are all where they are supposed to be. Lacking one hormone or another can radically affect your libido and sometimes after a hystorectomy they need to be tweaked a bit. You use the term "complete" so I assume that your ovaries are also gone. That means that all the hormones that they were resonsible for are no longer being produced. You need some help in that department. I am sorry that the doctor who did your surgery did not make sure that this important part of your care was taken under control. It is very important. Those hormones do more than just control your libido, the lack of them can cause fatigue, weight gain, insomnia and a number of other subtle changes which can be avoided.
See your doctor, that is the important first step.
Kiss your husband and thank him for being so patient and understanding. He wants his "old" wife back and you cannot blame him! She is still there, just not up to par right now. I know that it is hard to believe but you can fix this. Call today and make an appointment. Your marriage and your life with your husband are worth it!
Love and Blessings

If by complete hysterectomy you mean your ovaries too, then that would explain what happened to your sex drive: no hormones = no arousal + no lubrication. You need to see your doctor about the possibility of hormone supplements. Meanwhile, you probably need to replace your natural lubricating with an over-the-counter lubricant, like the KY line of products. And by all means tell your husband what's going on! There are other ways of pleasing each other besides penetration.

first see a gyno and find out what the physical issues are if any
next, get on a regular hormonal treatment, as any type of operation like that can definielty affect the bodies hormonal balance
third, start from scratch and start small, if you truly love each other and communicate well, things will turn out just ducky.
