My grandmother celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary in Newsham Hospital. Liverpool. I need to find the exact year and possibly the month to help with family tree. She fractured her femur on Cristmas Day, (no, she didn't drink) and was admitted to Broadgreen Hospital but transferred to Newsham as it was closer to home. Does anyone know how long a stay would normally be, as the practice then was to put the patient in almost full body plaster.

IT is hard to say exactly, when she would have been discharged

My estimation ,based on your previous comment would be the end of March to the beginning of April .

The Gp's surgery would ,have had her medical records
.( in there would have been the date of discharge )
(i really do not know how long they would keep them )
But that is one angle you could pursue.

Another would be the parish church records,
at the place where they got married
Vicars and parish Priests are usually most helpful

The National Register for Births , Deaths and Marriages
should , also have the records of your Grans wedding .
There may be a small fee, to look this up

I do hope you will soon get closer, with your search
