The government are already investing millions of pounds into the NHS.
The problem is that a lot of NHS hospitals are so old fashioned and need to be refurbed to bring then in line with how the newer ones look.
I would also just like to comment that hospitals are at an acceptable level, otherwise they would be closed. They are subjected to several inspections every year by various parties.
I agree quality does need to be increased, but things like funding operations, ensuring there are enough medical supplies and staff wages are at the forefront.

It goes without saying that more money is needed to bring the NHS hospitals up to an acceptable level. As to where the money should come from, maybe the Lottery? They give money to all sorts of cranky groups so they can go and hug trees etc. but something like this will save lives and in my opinion should be first in line. They could set aside an amount every week so that other charities will still benefit but the rest to be invested in the NHS. Too simple an idea?

I definately think alot more money needs to be invested in the nhs. My company supplies staff for hospitals and they are working morning and night up to 15 hours + a day on minimum wage as the nhs has a budget. I think its disgusting.

My partner is a nurse in the NHS, and she truely believes there are too many middle men in the hospitals that are draining the hospital resources with their wage packets. most of these people have various roles that overlap with someone elses, surely better structuring and mangement of how many "managers" we need in a hospital would save us bundles to reinvest. similarly the UK isnt in a habit of tracking down foreign people to pat for treatment they have recieved in the NHS, be it emergency or just coz its a freebie..in the States they are almost militant in getting money out from you before a treatment is given.

My journey of uk hospitals (contained in the West Midlands the position I stay) is exceptionally difficult. do not anticipate they're going to grant you with such issues as water, pillow and blanket (extremely if its Heartlands well being middle the position i ought to have killed only for a drink of water yet they couldnt be stricken to convey it) i'm bringing all my personal this time. i will have an extremely massive suitcase, a crate of water, all my toiletries, pillows, a fabulous warmth blanket and a huge bag of nutrition. As a vegetarian I once spent 3 days given not something yet lettuce sandwiches (no margarine) at Solihull well being middle. And in case you get to the ward and performance purely neglected a meal they gained't grant you with a element. in spite of each thing there are not any prizes for vacationing mild. better effective to have each thing you opt on and decide (and larger) than desire you had added something that you probably did not. that is reachable to seperate you suitcase into 2 - one for labour and one for toddler and after labour, or have suitcases. This helps discover each thing actual. also be prepared for diverse length little ones! The tiny toddler outfits I took for my first baby not in any respect equipped him.

They should forget the notion that we are still a superpower and abandon plans for new submarines and aircraft carriers unless they're planning another war.
This should be one of the richest and best provided countries on earth but far too much money is squandered in some areas while others like the NHS are pared to the bone by penny-pinching bureaucrats.

They are and they do - we all (well most of us) pay taxes. People moan about poor hospitals and they moan about higher taxes. It's one or the other!

They really should, I would say charge immigrants a few thousand for entry/citizenship, that should rake in a bit. That is not a racist comment either people!
