Why can’t I find a girlfriend who likes action movies, who is a computer technician or offering computer technical advice, likes to joke around with me, plays game systems or look up cheat codes? Why can’t a girl be like this or make an effort?

sounds like your not looking in the right places.. you could try finding someone in bookstores or internet cafe's you usually don't find these kind of women in clubs or bars. Look on myspace or something with keywords that your looking for.

its not always about what you like and what she likes but trying to find a middle ground. so what if she doesnt wanna spend hours or days looking up cheat codes or playing games. can you be just as happy doing what you love to do while she does something she likes in the same room as you ....spending quality time doing what makes you both happy or why not offer to teach her some of it and not go all techno babble on her so you loose her interest before you even get it?

Look for a computer programmer girlfriend.. or a girl who has a lot of brothers, no sister.. most likely, she will be influenced by her brothers.
Or visit a video game arcade, and try to spot there.
