No, racism is a natural aversion to anything that is not, on the surface, similar to you. Racism exists in more forms than simply the racism we know. People clique with people they feel they can relate to, and alienate those who are different. This could be in terms of intellect, social skills, anything. The problem is that when a certain minority group has so little influence, they are easy to scapegoat and paint out to be the source of all your woes. In that case, racism can take its most extreme forms--violence, humiliation, genocide.
This is a very human concept, and nobody--no matter how idiotically self-deluded they are, is immune. Everybody is racist on some small level, about some small issues.
That having been said, I don't think scientific racism should be ostracized. If people report differences in test results according to race, this has scientific and genetic significance and can be useful for better understanding the human genome. Painting a stigma on something like that simply because of the problems its extreme form can cause is nonsensical when it hinders progress in a society.
Also, people who make a big deal out of it perpetuate it, and make it stronger and quieter--just waiting to explode. You'll see.

Man you know how to pick a topic dont you.
The word rascist is a very dirty word and it should be but it seems to be hidding the truth about what race really is all about.
Racism in a sense is really only a cloud which society and human being use to segregate people into different classes.
Ethnicity is different than race and can be seen as somthing more readily accepted. The problem being that ones enthnicity may be only in the mind. FOr example the concept of "whitness" I have olive skin as my father came from Adriatic sea but my mother is from Hungary with very white skin. Ethnically I feel like I am white but am I really? I actually enjoy having olive skin and am proud of what I am but am I really White? the truth is I am not really white but olive skinned.
Racism against human beings based on colour is always wrong and most countries have laws against such things. But Racisim will always exist as long as human beings exist on this earth as different groups fight for power. This can be seen with the current trend of being politically correct.
One example of the result of rascism is how Negroes who desended from Africa now use hair straightener to make their hair straight trying to look more "white" so to speak.
Have a look at all the old movies of America and see how black people appeared and compare it to todays movies very rarely do you see a black person with afro in true African style.
To me all the races in the world are beautifull in their own way like all the different colours of the rainbow or flowers.

people are scared of new and strange things, some people are open minded and embrace new stuff, others hide in their mind and listen to rumours and stereotypes, and some people are just plain mean, everyone has a "reason" for racism, i dont think there is a good enough excuse for it, but people will have to accept it, for the world will one day be tan.

A 100 points for your question. Racism sucks and more than anything I think it has to do with someone knowing that you can become something better but wants to prevent you from doing so. I hate it, I really do.

racism is a tool for the small and weak minded. i do not think it is about power or fear. its more to make them feel better bout themselves cause they lack self-esteem.
