My friend and i have been single for a while. We both have children. She would like me to try and set up a double date, so that she can meet someone. The thing is I'm really shy and approaching people isn't something I'm comfortable with. Can any one help?

Hey,
It sounds to me like this is a good idea for you. Probably the best thing to do is to remind yourself that as dates go you will probably be most comfortable in this one. If you guys are good friends then she will see if you get uncomfortable or lost for words she will take the attention off you. Additional if the people you go out with do not work out you will have someone to drive home at nite lol.
Now think about how good an idea this could be and decide that you are gonna do this.
Seize the day!
Another really good thing about this idea is you can use the double date as a kind of excuse, imagine the situation:
You see, meet or reawaken an old/new friend and ask:
"hey i have a friend who would really like to meet someone, do you know anyone who might suit her (give a little description)"... "you do! great, what would you think about me and you and them go out for a meal? that way we can get to know each other more and we can see how they might suit each other."
I mean clearly that's very specific but it its just an example...
In short i think go for it, for that few moments of nervousness in asking what ever happens, for the experience alone. its worth it.

Hope i could help. Cheers

If you're shy I would have thought this would be perfect as you dont have the awkwardness of being one on one with your date - you'll have your mate and her date to chat to as well. Also when theres four people there theres a lot less chance of awkward silences and the likes so its perfect!
You wont have to approach him as such - look at it as a group of friends going out together - you can take lead from your friends conversations if you get stuck for something to say - really I think its an ideal situation for you and I think you should go for it!!
Best of luck!
xx

Sure - I double dated when I first went out with my wife, and have double dated with my friends. Its good for the first couple of dates - especially if its a blind date!

Just go out and enjoy yourselves!!

Good luck

they are relaxing! and that they are actual much less stressful for me individually in a clean relationship. i think of they are good to do, yet you need to even have one on one time which includes your better half. BQ: a sprint, I generally be attentive to the folk I date particularly nicely formerly although. BQ2: Nope!
