I think Chinese New Year and the giving of red packets is a Chinese tradition to bring in good luck and drive away the bad spirits? So should Christians or even a Church be celebrating Chinese New Year?

I doubt that anybody interior the Church even knew of you, so I doubt you have been "kicked out" nevertheless in case you probably did not additionally be attentive to that Catholics ARE CHRISTIANS or perhaps what a Christian is, which might help you be attentive to that Catholics are Christians, than consistent with probability you will possibly desire to have been "kicked out." Secondly, Catholics do not use any version of the King James Bible. it rather is the Protestant version. finally, what's the enormous manage celebrating the chinese language New 365 days? you have a sprint bit chinese language nutrition, watch some fire crackers and a dragon parade? Does eating chinese language nutrition threaten your faith in Jesus? if so, than it is not very solid, is it? As for all people of those different days of social gathering, i've got in no way celebrated nor even heard of any of them.

Honour all men -1 Peter 2:17
Love your neighbour -Matthew 19:19
Love of others is love of God. If you have a Chinese friend, celebrate with them.

traditions, celebration, and spiritual cleansing to move forth with a renewed positive attitude with celebration is healthy. we celebrate many things that don't quite fit our religion perfectly. christians, look at santa claus , he is worshipped more widely than jesus I could go on, but you get what I mean. I say, why not?

True believers have very little respect for any Pagan holiday. That includes "Christmas" "Easter" and "Sunday". The days which should be respected are the days Almighty YHVH set aside for us to rest and worship on!

If they are doing out of tradition and it's not a matter of heart and idol worship, then I see no flaw.
