The first thing you have to do is truly decide this is what you want to do. Then do it. There is no easy way, just sheer will. Reduce the amount of fat in your diet and the amount of processed foods a sugar. Eat sensibly. Increase the vegetables and fruits and cut out the sweets and junk. Drink more water as well. It is simple, just not easy. Good luck.

First, strike the word diet from your vocabulary. Don't even consider going on a diet, the problem with going on a diet is that, even if it is sucessful and you get to your goal weight, you will eventually come of the diet, go back to what you were doing before, then you will put all the weight back on again, plus a little extra for good measure.
Instead, get it into your head that you are going to make changes to your lifestyle you can sustain for the rest of your life, therefore you have to be able to live with them, you have to enjoy them. In order to decide what those changes have to be you need to know how you came to be overweight in the first place (if you are, which is another thing you should check first). In order to decide what has to change start a food diary, make a note of what you eat, every single thing that you eat or drink. Don't particularly worry about altering you eating habits but if you do think about eating something then decide not to as a result of having to write it down, make a note of that too. Also make a note of what causes over eating, if anything, ie feeling bored, stressed, angry, whatever. After you've done this for a week or two have a look for patterns of behaviour, habits you can change, which will help reduce your weight. For example, if you always have a big mug of hot chocolate and 2 slices of hot buttered toast before you go to bed, considered a lower calorie choice, for example tea and 1 slice of toast with a little honey or cheese spread. If you eat during the evening because you are bored rather than hungry find other things you can do with the time.
Any change you choose to make be sure that you can stick with it. It may be a slower method to reaching your goal weight but once you're there, you'll stay there.
Finally, if you can't do it alone, join weight watchers, it's by far the easiest eating plan to follow
Good luck

As others have said, consider this a lifestyle change - altering your habits - rather than a 'diet'... You can do it. It only takes 3 weeks to form new habits and believe me... I've done it!
With regards to nutrition/intake:
- Drink a MINIMUM of 8 glasses of water a day to flush out toxins and replenish all of your organs (more while exercising)
- Eat heaps of fruit and veges (high in vitamins and antioxidants)
- Cut out coffee, soft drinks, fast foods, fatty foods and foods high in bad carbs
- Eat foods that are high in omega 3 fatty acids (i.e LSA, tinned fish, etc)
- Eat 5-6 small meals daily
Exercise is important, but without a balanced diet it just won't work. However, your fitness goals should be:
- Walk briskly everywhere you go throughout the day and try and increase your normal daily activity
- Do about 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercises
- Remember to stretch muscles before and after exercise and hydrate constantly (plain water)
Water is crucial. Also, if you crave sugars/bad carbs - get a chromium supplement.
Good luck and email me if you have further questions

Loosing weight is not about dieting. You need to change your lifestyle if you want to keep it up. You juts need to try to eat small meals every 3 hours and make sure to have fruits and veggies every other meal. This does not mean you can not have your favorite foods. There are so many varieties today with low carb low fat sugar free. All you need to make sure is not to try to eat no fat at all or no carb at all or no sugar at all. Your body needs all of it and if you keep it in moderation you will see good results at the end. Try to eat in the evenings when you have cravings veggies. Fruits are better throughout the day since some of them have a lot of sugar. Try to ea an apple an hour before bed time so you don't wake up in the middle of the night for cravings. Drink at least 2 Gallons of water throughout the day and exercise every other day for an hour or every day for an half hour. Make sure you challenge your body, so you can keep up with your metabolism. You will get used to it but it takes a week or two to get over the heals. That is the hardest time after than you will be just fine. And if you messed up for a day, just make your following day to a fruit and veggie day with a lot of water.

Start a diet daily 1500 calories .Under 1500 is not safe in my opinion and you lose muscle mass too if you cut very much things from your diet. You should ask a dietary doctor for further information .
Also you should divide your meals as much as possible this will help your metabolism to burn fats and use carbohydrates
Good Luck with your diet .
