Would the drying process also help kill the virus? What about public laudry mats, can HIV be transfered to someone's clothes becasue a positive person washered their clothes in the machine prior, only usinf simple detergent and not bleech? Please let me know.

There are only five ways to catch AIDS!
1) vaginal intercourse
2) anal intercourse
3) intravenous drug use
4) blood transfusion (although this is VERY rare because all donor blood is tested thoroughly)
5) oral sex (Extremely Rare because the giver would have to have a bleeding open wound in their mouth and I'm sure the receiver would notice.

That's It! No shaking hands, washing machines, toilet seats, dentists, or drinking glasses can give you AIDS!

NO you can't. When blood is exposed to air the virus DIES quickly. You would have to lick his blood stains or rub them on your genitals or touch his bleeding cuts, for even a tiny chance of catching HIV. Just wash your clothes in hot water and do an empty small load with bleach alone once and a while, if you are scared. Or do a white clothes only load with a little bleach in the wash, then wash your other stuff after that load. But no the virus can only get into your body if you somehow get his blood into your mouth or genitals. Blood from clothes, the virus has died already. It would have to be an open sore or cut that is exposed to your mouth or genitals or if you had a cut and touched his cut you might get it. If he ever is bleeding or has a cut, don't touch it or him. Hand him the band-aid or towel and make him clean up his own cuts. But the washing machine will never give your clothes or you HIV.

HIV dies as soon as it touches oxygen so it's not possible to contract that disease from a washing machine.

so yes washing it would "kill" it.
