Why would senior and those just graduated not know what mammels are or thinks spores of the back of a fern is a disease? A majority of youth I have asked do not know the answers! I graduated in 1966 and I even remember!

Now there are so many kids per class room that often they barely get the basics, the teachers don't have time to give as they may want to. Added to that computers which should increase learning often has the opposite affect instead of thinking and figuring things out, knowing even how to research, the computer becomes quick fix, or a game tool.

Yet kids need to know how to navigate the computers they use.

To often the basics get over looked to keep up to date on the new gadgets and toys out there.

Or kids will go through with passing grades just because they need the space.

Factor in that schools need to have a percentage of passing students so they keep their budgets and they pass students they shouldn't
