Lift weights. Make sure you are eating all the essential amino acids and getting carbs and protein. Body builders get a lot of protein from eggs, poultry, or protein powder supplements. A good way to gain muscle is to work one part of the body per day, and don't lift for a few days after you get all the muscle groups done. So, you could do arms and shoulders one day, chest back and torso the next, then legs and butt the third day, then rest for 4 days. The resting days are when you actually get the muscle gain. The lifting breaks the muscle down, and rest builds it back up, but a little bigger than before. Your results will also depend on genetics.

My uncle was the number 1 boxer and weight lifter in the prison circuit. Haha I know from experience. Heres just simple things to start out with, Eat alot of breads, pasta, rice, grain. Drink 8 glasses of water, along with the other foods on the food pyramid. There is no way we can all get everything on there everyday so invest in LIQUID vitamins NO pills. The liquid vitamins absorb into your system fully and quicker. Run! Jog! Get up and down stairs. Start to strech alot using a video or something like yoga (dont laugh). Then its gym time, do little weight, more reps. The more you do the more toned your quality of muscle gets. People who use big weights may get bigger...but i guarantee you they pull and tear muscles left and right. Get a trainer to help you chart yourself! Dont expect results for about 3-4 weeks. It doesnt happen overnight!

Try www.freetrainers.com
That website will help you out with a routine for both lifting and dieting.
One thing, though. Take it slow and use proper form!
Actually, two things. Trust yourself. You're gonna find out what works for you and what doesn't. There is a lot of garbage out there written by some shady "trainers", you don't have to trust everything you read.

WAY too much to answer that here, but I can recommend an excellent resource: Joe Weider's Ultimate Bodybuilding. Excellent book, available on Amazon.com used for $5. Very good investment. (Don't let the pictures scare you, everything in this book works for all levels of fitness.)
