It has to do with perception. How any particular person perceives other people is influenced by many things. Some of these influences include: parents, role models, peers and experience
If any of the parents, role models or peers degraded or looked down on people of a different race or culture the person you are referring to would accept this behavior and emulate it to be accepted or it could be this person had a negative experience in their past and has no desire to chance a repeat experience

I find it hard to believe that it's only white people (I'm Eastern European, by the way, I'm not "American," wasn't born here or anything..) anywho, I find it hard to believe that some people in EVERY culture have negative things to say about other cultures. Let's say you're Hispanic. Have you or your friends/family never said anything negative about another culture, even if it's intended to be a joke or something to that affect? I think people say negative things about each other all the time, anyway, and that comes from a lack of understanding each other as well as ignorance. And sometimes people get frustrated and takes things out on other people, like "Oh those darn *blanks*, ruining *blank*.." I've heard it a million times from people, and it makes me want to cringe. The people that say it, though, are not only white. They're Hispanic, African American, Asian, and everything in between.

Its human nature to do such things, its not limited to white people. Slavery was not even invented by white people, it was a tool used by tribes in Africa, to make them work in their fields. Years later, white people are still paying for slavery in america and making amends, but now its ok for all other races to poke fun of the white people, watch any black, hispanic, or any other comedian do the "white" voice, but forid it if a white comedian makes a racial joke. I'm not talking about the michael richards issue, but damn, its human nature. Every culture, every language has a slur word for people of other cultures.

I can't agree with your basic assumption at all, so it would be difficult to account for the phenomenon.

Sadly, having opinions about other people based on race, sex, tribal affiliation, height, weight, eye color, religion, etc., has a very long and universal history. "White" people are no worse or better about it than any other group.

Personally, I think that any individual who is disrespectful of any other individual because of arbitrary external characteristics is himself an inferior specimen, insecure, immature, and not particularly bright. But that's just my personal prejudice!

Most white people don't have something negative to say about other races or cultures, how did you arrive at this conclusion? You're steoretyping and that is exactly what you don't want others to do concerning your culture. Sure, there are some idiot bigots and haters but for the most part people are decent and fair.

I am white and a white person discriminated against me and even so why is it people assume whites say bad things of other cultures? one bad apple does not mean the whole bunch is rotten. There is negitive in every race and positive in all races why do people worry what other think?
who cares, live it up and forget what people of other reces think about others when they are negitive ..they only do it because they are misinformed

Perhaps because non-white races and cultures tell them just the bad stuff? Break the mold, tell them good stuff about your culture or race...Free the Whites from bad information!

That isn't exclusive of white people. Every race feels some sort of superiority to others. It's human nature.

White bashing again. How is that any different than what you are accusing us of doing? Do you know most white people? Perhaps people could answer your question better if you ask it in a less racist way.

No one can blame white people for being negative.....everyone has their good and bad days. Every race and culture has their differences about other races...Everyone is equal. We all say things that are negative sometimes and even things we might regret.. But its not just one race that does it... We all do it!
