Each Person is different, they handle everything differently. Even when people loose control its all completely different in each situation.
Councelling works for some. I personally didnt think it worked but then i started realising the more i needed to talk, the less those close to me were around and I had nobody left except a councellor type person.
Meditation Works for some but personally not for me. However A Time out from everything does or can help. you dont have to sit with "trancing music" and inscense to Meditate or take a time out. find some where quit, sit breath try wipe everything from your mind then try to get back into what you were doing when you took the time out originally. Sometimes a minute or two can work, other times it can be half hour or possibly even longer.
Try avoid situations that you have absolutely no control over. If you can control the environment that you exist in then you are closer to controlling your life.
Sit down and try to write out how you are feeling.. maybe keep a diary, or if that seems childish, you could write then destroy what you wrote as a form of letting go.

I hope this helps, not being in control of ones life real, for lack of a better word, sucks.

Figure out why you lost control of yourself in the first place, take responsibility for it admit to your rights and wrongs, talk to someone about it, accept it as your past and leave it there in THE PAST, then make plans for a new brighter future with loving and accepting yourself first. Learn from the past, dont re-live it., dont let others bring you down, stay around positive people. Take self-esteem courses and any type of course that improves the positive things in life. You could also maybe do a course that interests you and help you in employment etc.
I lost myself because I made bad decisions when it came to men and I let them use and abuse me but now through therapy and courses I am much much stronger and do not need another person to make me happy. And dont forget SMILE at someone each day, that alone will make you feel better.
Good luck

I look into the mirror of my mind and bring back a reflection of kindness. After that, control is not an issue. It's only when I see a reflection of hate that my self control is lost.
