What most people don't understand who've answered is that you don't care about the woman in question; you're asking from a perspective of cultural tradition that states that a woman is worthless if they are not a virgin and also not your wife.
Doctors perform a visual and manual examination to observe whether they hymen is intact - ie, untorn. It doesn't "go away" like a wrapper once a woman has had intercourse; it only gets torn.
This membrane absolutely CAN be torn by intense physical activity; gymnastics can do it, a fall on that area of the body can damage it as well. Because it is a living tissue of the human body, it does indeed have both nerves and blood vessels, though not a whole lot of either. It is a membrane, and does NOT look like a cherry. Unless you have been trained to recognize it, you probably wouldn't be able to. Plus, unless you are going to purchase the proper equipment for performing a pelvic exam, you wouldn't be able to see that far up inside of her anyway.
What some people don't realize, too, is that not all intercourse will tear the membrane.
It will also be torn, of course, if a woman has been assaulted - either by penis, finger, or object. This is, of course, not the woman's fault and you have no business judging her or asking whether any of those things has happened to her.
If it matters to you whether your potential mate is a virgin, just ask her. If she lies to you, it's on her conscience - not yours.

Hi,at first I want to correct ur idea about the virginity mambrane . It wonot never broken during cycling, hourse riding, or other activities. Lot of boys or even men think of this & ask how I can be sure that my wife is virgin or its hymen(the virginity membrane) has broken before. The hymen is delicate membrane in which the vaginal orifice enclosed when it is broen by the penis of the man ,Its spermatozoa enter to the uterus of the girl & the pregnancy occurs. This membrane doesnot have nerves & little of blood vessels. So it isnot necessary to get lot of blood when it is broken. If it has been broken before& the girl carry out asurgery to reform it again, this false membrane will still for 2 days maximum& than it is aged & fall off .

It really makes no sense to check for this, since it can be broken in many ways and some girls are born without one. Regarding the surgery, no, the new one doesn't fall off in 2 days. However, unless you are in a culture where your life depends on having a hymen, it is kind of silly to have this operation...
