I've been in a long distance relationship and it lasted about 3 years. It was a little hard, but we got married 3 years ago and now we have a beautiful daughter together. You just have to know this person very well to be able to trust him. You have to have a lot of communication. Let him know every single thing you do and ask him questions about stuff he did throughout the day. One thing you gotta know, let him go out with friends, but make sure they're just friends. Let him know that you will always be there for him, but he's gotta be honest with you. Tell him that it is hard for you to go through a long distance relationship, but that you're doing it just because you don't want to lose him. But of course you're expecting him to be completely honest with you to be able to work this out together. Tell him that you might be thousands of miles away from him, but you feel him closer and closer every day that passes by.
All you gotta do is be patient and if you guys are meant to be than you will always be together. Good Luck!!!

very good question....personally i think it might work for a while but in the end it might be like "omg marry me "type thing but the connections is fun cuz u get to talk more lol......and really there is nothing u can do but hold on to the present try not to think about the future too much ....haha but LDR does have a great benefit ....less emotional stuff after breakups lol .....but u also have to consider ur age too ....cuz i mean if u are older u might want a more meaningful relationship or something
i am young so i don't mind.....and i think LDR is really great cuz u can carry out ur normal life and connect when u want to so its less time consuming and my philosophy is i will trust u and if u decided to cheat then don't let me find out haha ironically i am very good at doing that ....so my point is LDR works but depending on what kind of person u are .....someone who is not totally dependent, suspicious of others, sharp minded ect. then it will probably work but eventually u guys will have to meet somehow so think about it......its either u or him but u have to be prepare to make the sacrifice lol
GOOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

I think that long distance relationships can work you both have to work really hard and have alot of trust for one another..its something that you both have to want and work for..i aint gonna lie its not easy at all like i said it just depends on how much you want it to work and how hard your willing to work for it.

Lots of trust and love!! Keep in touch as often as u can, visit one another once in a while if u can't afford, and if u can, then visit as many times as u can.

they can work, but it is harder, you have to communicate frequently - preferrably by telephone. the problem is that there are more communication problems, and things can happen while you can't see what is happening. it is a very hard way to go. better to not do this. promise.
