I had to change to a plastic bar one week after getting it pierced because I needed an MRI done. As soon as I got home the Metal bar went back in. Now its peeling really bad at the top and bottom. How can I stop it? I use Dial anti-bacterial soap, and Love My Piercing solution on it daily.

When I had my belly pierced I used non iodated salt and lukewarm water to clean it and a papertowel to dry. Avoid soaking it and touching it. You should wait for it to heal completely before changing the jewelery. The skin shedding can be because its healing yet getting irritated.

It sounds like you may have contact dermatitis. If there is nickel in your bar, this could be the cause. Try to get either stainless steel or gold. In the meantime, topical hydrocortisone, available over the counter can be used to quiet the dermatitis.

It's very simple salt & warm water solution, it heals the skin so much quicker there's no harm in trying it before everything else.
