In my guest bath cupboard there was a brand new unopened pack of six medium size towels. After a lunch for some thirty people the pack was gone. I havent said anything to anyone. However since the whole pack was large and heavy I doubt if somebody would actually walk off with it in their arms. Two of the guests came with sports bags and one went in the bath with it. At the time I wondered why. Could it be she stole the towels carting them off in the sports bag? Just want your opinion. I dont think its worth raking up the issue but I shall be more careful next time.

Bought them by the pack in case somebody wanted to use a towel after they played badminton I had set up outside. I presumed the ones who brought the sports bags brought a change of shoes or raquets or whatever since I had told them about the badminton.

Hey David I should say at about six dollars a towel on average you are looking at a loss of about forty or so. Sorry this happened to you. I´ve had it happen in my house. Ignore all the smartypants answers here as to why you buy towels by the pack, what thirty people are doing to lunch and why they arent working. Why shouldnt you buy them by the pack and why shouldnt you have thirty over to lunch? You dont have to explain everything to everybody. Soon somebody will ask why you have towels in the bathroom!

I would say you have done the right thing in not accusing anyone so far. Bag lady may or may not be it. Best thing is to write it off and be more careful next time.

The person who took the towels is more than likely a
Kleptomaniac. They can't help it. They are preoccupied with stealing.

Years ago one of the judges in our small town had a wife like that. He talked to the store managers. They watched her and made a list of what she stole. The Judge paid the bills each month. She stole things that she either didn't need or even wanted.

Either confront her or don't invite her again. Next time it may be something of value.

Worst case scenario, would be to hire someone to stand watch.

Be very careful who you invite... if you really believe it was this person, don't invite her back. And I like the suggestion of asking an 'innocent' question as suggested before, say 'oh, the strangest thing happened the other day, I got these towels for the party and later I couldn't find them anywhere, I wonder if I put them on the car roof in the parking lot like some people do??' then watch her reaction....

I would be more careful of my circle of friends. Sounds more like they are using you. You know I used to entertain quit often. I bought a vintage arcade that I used as a video jukebox and played games, Had some casino machines and always supplied beer , mixed drinks before going out to the clubs. My house was better than most clubs! I even went as far as having themes for each weekend. I noticed that I had more and more people comming over but between the fights, mess, and headache I just stoped most of the "friends" I didn't need over and stuck with a close knit bunch.

no matter if you position the money again on to the cardboard, your BF's mom will likely nevertheless pursue the study. Suicide is a ludicrous theory to think about over $500. once you're going to suitable your self, this is genuinely no longer well worth doing it for the variety of small volume. the finest area of do, for this volume of money, might want to be to easily admit it. arise with a sturdy reason you stole out of your mom-in-regulation, and easily admit it. in case you are able to't face doing it face-to-face, do it with somewhat more effective drama - leave a written confession and babbling apology the position your mom-in-regulation will discover it, then disappear to a chum's homestead for some days. Your mom-in-regulation will call you and allow you to already know each little thing is all ok. And all will be properly. likely.

Out of 30 people the chances that one is a creep are good.

When it comes to people doing things when there's a crowd, though, maybe you should be careful not to blame the sports-bag person. There's a chance someone else could have done it.

(When I go places I always bring my pocketbook into their bathroom because I want to comb my hair, spray it, etc. - sports-bag lady may have just needed her make-up and comb.)

People who steal can be pretty clever and sneaky.

It's your fault to keep the towels in a conspicuous place. Maintaining courtesy, you are correct in ignoring this theft. Hereafter you can have such things under lock and key. You can place the towels at appropriate places.

Hey David, you need to march yourself around to her place, bang on the door, storm into her bathroom and piss on her bath mat then turn and slap that b'itch across the face.
No friend should ever steel from another friend,
Now march on back to walmart and get yourself another six pack, should cost around $3 bucks..

Next time your at her house take a look in her linen closet. If you see your towels, you'll know she isn't really a friend. Friends don't steal from each other.

I would say don't worry about it. You don't know for sure who did it, so confronting any one person could only make your relationship potentially bad. Perhaps this person has kleptomania or some other psychological problem? If it ever comes up, see if you can convince her to get help.
