Anytime a guy shows interest in me, like at the store or whatever I get so nervous. I just say hi put my head down and try to get away as fast as I can. I don't know what to do. I know that I have ruined a lot of opportunities for myself. Every relationship that I have had is due to the fact that someone has set me up. I really need to learn how to respond. Anyone have any ideas?

I am the same way, except I'm a guy. Its really cute (in my opinion) when a girl looks at me and blushes. It's an obvious sign that she feels some attraction. If your at a loss for words, just look at the guy and let yourself blush. If he knows what he's doing, he'll just try to talk to you. Once you two open up communication, your blushing will subside and you'll be more comfortable.

Small steps. Try to slowly get more confident and less shy by accomplishing a small step at a time. Try to smile at a guy or start small talk with a guy. You don't even have to like this guy. Because right now, you just need to gain confidence. Take pride in your accomplishments and allow your mistakes as a guide to improve your self. So basically, step by step, try to get more and more comfortable around guys. When you gain a lot of confidence, then you can have just about any guy that you want. Good luck.

You have to be practical in all aspects of life. People generally loves ownself the most and so whenever he/she finds that their impotance is less, or someone teasing them or disagree their views that hurts the heart. But if we can be rational and take the reactions of others in sporting spirit and try to learn more from the world, emotions would certaintly be under control.
It is better to speak on a topic in front of a mirror and once you can do that freely you would be able to respond properly

This is a good question as I have the same issue. Not to sound arrogant but there are girls that I think are into me, but I always brush it off becuase I get shy and nervous. some people say "Just Get over it!" but it is not that easy. I dont have an answer for you and I'm only 21, but you should know you are far from alone.

It is great that you recognized your problem, so you can find the correction for it. Just try slowly to start to communicate and believe what you see; if boys start to speak with you that means that they like you, therefore you may have all the self confidence what all the girls have...

if it's easier try having friends around when u talk to a guy. Being one on one is very nerve racking for me. When i have friends around i'm more open to conversating.
Try this and good luck

i think if you are that shy u should try meeting people online, then talking to that person on the phone, then getting comfortable enough with that person to meet him in person with a group (so you are not alone just in case this person is a rapist). then if he is not the right person try again.....
Hope everything works out alright!!
