Please help me with your advice, my partner and I started having difficulties only a few months into our relationship. During this time, we were both hurting and I naturally went to mum and dad for their support, which they gave willingly. while we have forgiven each other and are getting counselling, my family hasnt. I know they are just worried that I will get hurt again but how do we deal with them thinking he is no good. I cant talk to them about what we do, and feel as tho they thuink im an idiot for tretrying our relationship

i have the same problem but it's my mom and sister that don't like him.... all i do is only tell them the good things and when we have problems and i need to talk about it i go to a friend for advice.
once parents have an opinion about a partner they don't usually change there opinion. i have been dealing with this for about 5 years.
He don't really like mom and sis either so when it comes to family functions it's so not enjoyable

Our parents do have foresight of some sort-you have to give it to them. I will suggest to talk to them, let them know how you feel and find a way to work it out without getting anyone hurt, running or keeping away from your family will not solve your problem cos believe it or not they always want the best for you. Good luck!

They probably won't change their minds, but try asking them how they dealt with each other during rough times. It will help them remember that no relationship is perfect.

when you involve your family in you relationship you suffer the consiquenses of them not seeing things to clearly as you do............explain to them that you know that their relationship has had some rocky situations and you may not have agreed with every decision that they have made but you didn't make their decision for them...............and you though that they would be objective and not judgemantal
