call in and close it or write to there Correspondence dept and ask for it to be closed

You can disconnect the card by calling the 1-800 customer service number and closing the account.
Please note that disconnecting the card will not DISCONNECT any outstanding debt you owe Citibank.

DO NOT CANCEL THE CARD!!!! Cut the card up and but do not close the account. When you close the account this takes away your available credit which in turn affects your credit score. Cut up the card and continue paying down the balance and do not get another card in the meantime. When you pay it down this will give you available credit which in turn will help your score dramatically.
