I would like to know. Many people don't know that there are still Catholics that practice the Catholic faith the way it was practiced for about 2 thousand years. I am a traditional Catholic,I don't eat meat on friday, I fast during lent, I recieve Communion on the tongue, and pray the rosary every day. What do you think of the mockery that is the Novus Ordo?

Never heard of it Sounds like you practise alot of primitive superstious ritual. If you stop it do you believe you will be cursed or be out of your God's protection?

I think the changes brought about by Vatican II, especially in the Mass, the Novus Ordo, are a breath of fresh air to the Catholic Church.

The Mass is much more accessible to the people and returns us to the original liturgy in which the people gathered to celebrate being with Jesus Christ. Before, we were just individuals who really did not participate in Mass, we only abserved. There was no connection to each of the other members of teh Body of Christ.

I also fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, I do not eat meat on Fridays of Lent, but I receive Communion in my hand. For a moment, I am holding my Lord and Savior lovingly in my hand.

You are more than welcome to celebrate hte faith as you wish. I would thank you to not denegrate the way that i celebrate the Mass.

Peace!
I am a Catholic. Before I answer your question I would like you to know that I respect your opinion.
I agree with you that there are some things in Vatican II which are not very popular with traditional Catholics. I for one, do not agree with some of the Vatican II reforms. For example, for the sake of ecumenism we dropped the doctrine that there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. I feel that doctrine should have been retained because there are many passages in Sacred Scripture to support it.
On the whole though, I think Vatican II has been very good for the Church. The laity are being encouraged to get involved in the life and mission of the Church. Changes in our liturgy and the use of the Bible have encouraged more young people to participate in the mass.
God bless

I'm a Prtstant, but I don't believe there is anything inherently wrong with those traditions, as long as they maintain that proper place: simply tools. As for V2, however, my own studies have convinced me that the C-tholic Ch-rch started to really decline after the Council of Trent. V2 is just the continuation of that process.

Liberation Theology. The Church becoming more secular and pandering to the physical needs rather than the spiritual ones. Email a guy named Gnosis, he knows a lot about it.

Saint Malachi predicted he would be the last pope, bringing down the religion and the demise of the vatican.

Guess we'll see.
