THEY ARE 5 YEARS APART- - - - - I THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE SEVERAL OPTIONS AVAILABLE. ONE WOULD BE A PICTURE BOOK WHICH MAYBE THE 7 YR OLD WOULD BE WILLING TO ENTERTAIN THE 2 YEAR OLD KINDA KEEPING BOTH OF THEM BUSY LOOKING AT PICTURES. MAKE A FEW PAPER AIRPLANES OUT OF REGULAR SIZE TYPING PAPER AND SHOW THE 2 YEAR OLD HOW TO TOSS THEM THAT SHOULD TAKE UP SOME MORE TIME. GIVE THE TWO YR OLD A PEN-LIGHT OR FLASHLIGHT AND LET HIM DIDDLE WITH THAT TURNING IT ON AND OFF. HAVE A LITTLE BREAK WHERE YOU SIT AT THE TABLE AND ENJOY A LITTLE REFRESHMENT AND SOMETHING TO DRINK. LET THE 7 YR GIRL TEACH THE LITTLE ONE HOW TO COLOR OR DRAW A PICTURE. LET THEM TRACE AROUND EACH OTHERS FOOT AND HANDS WITH A PENCIL. IF YOU HAVE A TOP THAT SPINS , THAT MIGHT ENTERTAIN FOR A WHILE. IF YOU CAN PUT A BLANKET OVER A CARD TABLE THEY WOULD HAVE FUN PRETENDING ITS THEIR HOUSE . MAKE SURE ITS ALWAYS OPEN AT ONE END. IF THEY HAVE A LITTLE TOY BOAT THEY COULD FLOAT IT IN THE BATHTUB- -- - - BUT THAT MIGHT BE TOO WET. I HOPE I HELPED.

See if her mother will allow you to bring in another 2 year old girl to babysit at the same time. The two of them can play with dolls or pretend to have tea parties. You can help your young charge have a nice day doing crafts like coloring, making gifts for mom like a hand print on a paper plate. Remember attention spans are short so no more than 15 minutes before changing activities. Set up a track in the yard and have her race around it as fast as she can, be the cheer leader for her. Have her assist with making lunch, put her to peeling carrots carefully watch she doesn't peel fingers, she can tear the lettuce for salad. Have her help you bake cookies from scratch she can decorate them after they cool as well as helping measure ingredients. Ask her what she wants to do and remember her imagination is awesome so pretending a box is a car works.

Kids always like playing outside, especially 2 year olds. Get a ball and kick it around with them. Put two bricks down as the goal and have a goal keeper, etc. Enjoy and have fun.

2 year olds love to color and do things with their hands. They are at a neat motor skill learning stage. They love to be read to. Simple is best.
