I am a salty savoury person - have been all my life... (give me a bag of crisps over chocolate anyday..) but i know it's not good for me

Cheese is very high in sodium but is a great source of protein and calcium.

Celery is high in sodium too but a good source of fiber.

Wheat thins and Triscuts are pretty healthy but salty. They have the unsalted variety.

Also your version of healthy depends on who you talk to, what diet you are on, whether you have health concerns like high blood pressure, and your personal values about food (vegetarian, vegan, fair trade, organic, etc.)

Incidently, if you want to use less salt but still have that salty taste? I think the kinds of salt matter. Like sea salt, kosher salt, gray salt, I'm not sure which. And if you cook without salt, and add it at the table, you use less. Most people, if they are salters, will add at the table whether or not the food is salted during cooking so if you skip it at the stove, you are doing that person a favor.

Not rice cakes or crackers? Sheesh... you took the only two answers and made them invalid! Honey wheat pretzels? Peanuts? Mixed nuts? Lightly salted popcorn?

I love salt too. The only chips we buy anymore are the organic tortilla chips that have no hydrogenated/trans fats. We like to eat them with salsa...so it's pretty healthy.
I sometimes get the crackers that are like Triscuits but without the hydrogenated oil. They have lots of fiber.
