I got a book for you read the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins it helped me come out as an atheist. I was out a little but after reading that every single person I meet knows i'm atheist haha. My mom is a very religious woman and after telling her she was saddened but let me be. She hates it when I start talking about religion though. The taboo on religion is the only reason it's still going.

I don't believe that Jesus is God either, but I have utmost respect for his mission that he fulflled and for the life he lived as an example to all of us. It's really not necessary to tell your parents your doubts if you feel it would hurt them. No need to "lie' either. If if can be artfully avoided, then take that route. At all costs, be true to yourself and your convictions. That is the most noble coarse of action. Pretending to believe something that you don't gains nothing.

Have you read the Bible...The New Testament which is after Jesus was walking on this earth? You must study into all aspects of religions to feel secure about Jesus. You must be a smart minded person that questions issues for you own sense of belief....If you really study in different churches, to seek the "truth". The "truth" will set you free....Jesus said "Seek & You Will Find'. Also:"Ask and You Shall Receive". Try it...I checked it all out and found out there is/was a man named Jesus...While you are alone in your room, ask Jesus to show himself to you...In a way that you will know his spirit....He will...God bless you & I will pray for your soul...

If your parents are anything like mine were when I chose to leave, you can probably expect them to try and make you feel GUILTY about your decision as long as you still live under their roof. I had to move out to really be free and able to think for myself. Still took a few years, but it was worth it.
My mother was a master at turning everything I said or did around to attack me, and she was constantly trying to make me feel guilty, just because I stopped going to church.
The sooner you can move out, the better.

probably the easiest way is to let your actions speak for you. maybe stop going to religious functions and that kind of thing. that way when they finally realize, its not going to be such a shock since they've suspected for a while. also you may change your mind and decide in the end not to leave your religion after all (as many people do), so that way you won't upset them for no reason.

I would be sad, but I'd let you go. I won't make you believe in Jesus, it can only come by personal conviction. The only thing I can do is pray.
But.... as I'm only fourteen.... if i left Christianity I think my parents would freak out. sorry...

I personally would be ecstatic. I have no idea how old you are and how intelligent our parents are. Why is it important to tell them? You do not have to flaunt your ideas. If it is a major issue wait till you fly the coop.

I would think that you have a mind that really thinks and works, and you are free to choose whatever you want.
