If you want your local high street to look like Londonderry in the 70's with soldiers in flak jackets and armoured Land Rovers everywhere. Something I think that might lead to things kicking off. Leave it to police, and the British intelligence, to sort that out thanks.
As for bringing them home, absolutely, the Iraq problem is just Bush's ego getting the better of him, we should have had enough sense to leave them to the mess they started.

Because the soldiers in Iraq are not going to protect you from terrorists here, who have so far been mostly British citizens. That is, quite rightly, a job for the police and intelligence services domestically, not the army. The soldiers in Iraq need to stay for some time to come in order to try and prevent the mess that we see every day in Iraq on our television screens from dissolving into an uncontrollable regional conflict, which would be worse for all of the innocent Britons wishing to be protected from terrorists here and abroad.

Civil protection is a Police responsibility. The army is only deployed with the say-so of the prime minister. Dont forget that the British SAS, MI5/6 are working hard every day in counter terrorist work to keep the country safe, as are special police forces trained in this field. They can catch some, but it only takes one determined baddy to get his point across. Be thankful for the guys who we rely on to keep us safe but will never know who they are.

The attacks on the twin towers came before the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq so what reason do we have to believe that withdrawing our soldiers from these wars would prevent other attacks?

Why not bring All the Soldiers home so they can find the real terrorist, the one that got away. These people in Iraq were no threat until we invaded and occupied their country.
