I love www.gigglepoetry.com and www.squiglysplayhouse.com
Also, there are a lot of national products with great kids' sites. The one I am trying to master is at keebler.com and a tower game where you have to remember a series of objects and when you get high enough you say you want to stuff the Elfudge cookie. I'm still trying to get to the top level.
P.S. If you're Christian, www.scripturescouts.com is being developed slowly but surely, and I like the games on www.christiansunite.com

My son loves Nickjr and Disney. Also, for education, there's one called Starfall. Go to google and search for whatever you're looking for - I searched for soemthing like +alphabet+interactive and found a bunch of sites for my 4 yr old.

Just be diligent and make sure you know where they're going and protect them from creeps. Check out iSafe.com for information on using the net safely.

If you'd like professionally reviewed, educational sites for kids, the Education Network Australia (edna) web site has thousands of them. Visit http://www.edna.edu.au. For the 9 year old, try the Schools section. For the little one, try the Early Childhood section.

Why would you put your kids online!? Put them in a pile of dirt and let them think, explore, grow, learn, play, and live!! A child doesn't need the internet to learn anything, give them something they can do to help prepare them for later in life.

For the 9 year old I would try pbs.org, but for the 5 year old, noggin.com is a fun and educational website.
