Why do people think they can get with an underaged teen, and and then molest/rape them,then post it on here?

i have only been on here for one night, and already i have seen one that said he had sex with his daughter, don' know if that is true or not, but i know it is wrong. And then there is one who says he is going to kill himself, so i talk with him, and he is 25 and wants to date me, i am only 16! i tell him i can't date him and he goes right on back to saying death is the answer. You know what i have been through this already. i have been molested already in my life, i don't need reminders. It really does a damaged to a girl. I now can't trust a lot of people, but i try to. So if you are with me on this, or can help me figure out why Pervs like them do this kind of ****, then please reply.

The internet can be a great place for fun, entertainment, and information, but also it is a playground for predators. These perverts prey on innocent people and many fall victim to them.

I am a retired law enforcement officer, and I remember speaking with a Florida Department of Law Enforcement officer whose job was to pose as a 14-15 year old girl online and attempt to catch those predators. I was told that they usually got a response within 2 minutes of signing online. Sad, but amazing.

The best thing I can tell you to do is to be very careful about which websites you go to. Also, be careful about putting any personal information online, that's something you really need to avoid. If someone solicits you, you have the option to block them and also to report them. If you receive any solicitations, please contact the FCC ( Federal Communications Commission ) and file a complaint. You give them whatever information you can, or copy the conversation you had with this person. Law enforcement will do the rest. And you will have helped take these horrible people off the internet, and perhaps save a life.

I can't answer the question why men do these kinds of things...I can't even begin to make up an answer.

As for this site, all I can say is that you shouldn't take it so seriously. The internet provides a sense of anonymity and people who do these evil things just end up hanging out here. I just got on this site 3 days ago, and I see some of the things you're talking about. But I just skip right over them and look at the more light-hearted questions.

More than half of the stuff on here is not true. Maybe you should stay off the internet until you realize that you cannot "talk" to strangers without it being a problem some of the time. You obviously have some issues. Why not see a doctor or counselor and get some help and stay off the internet talking to people as a lot of them are pervs.

Honey, at 16 this is not really the place for you. Most of those kinds of posts, especially when you see that it's their first and or only question, it's not true, they're just posting to get their jollies or get a rise out of people. I also notice that you have your IM on here. Probably not a good idea at your age.

I'm sorry that you had to be upset by what you saw. There is much worse that goes on here. It isn't for the faint of heart, thin skinned or for those your age, especially on the dating and singles category. Unfortunately a lot of people post just for the shock value.

Welcome to the forum, and please be careful.
There are a lot of pervs and weirdos who play in here. There are also tons of liars who enjoy getting people all worked up with offensive and nasty questions... their hope is to shock you and make you angry. You can either 'report' them (which does little good) or you can ignore them and skip their questions entirely. If everyone ignored them, they would go away. As far as suicides and other desperate types... feel free to tell them some kind inspiring words in an answer to their question, but refrain from chatting with them or emailing. This is the internet and you never know who you're dealing with. Have fun and play safe.

p.s. There are plenty of good people here in Answers too, they're just not obnoxious enough to stand out right away :)
