Sadly, if he is a football fan, it doesn't have to be his team and he is a just being a guy and it is nothing personal although it truly feels that way at being tossed aside for a freaking football game!

It dates back to caveman days with a predatory instinct that football brings out about survival of the fittest and watching for the qualities of a winner.

Sucks for us females but it could be worse, instead of drooling over football, he could be drooling over another girl.
