I love to drink hot chocolate. I usually drink the Nestle and Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix, but I realized that they both contain dehydrogenated oil, which is TRANS FAT!

I am looking for a brand of hot chocolate mix that taste as good as the two above, and does not have any transfat. Organic/natural would be even better. Please also tell me where can I buy it and how much. I am in Southern California.

Thanks, hot coco lover!

I sometimes make my own if I want to feel like "home". My mom used to make it for us this way:

1 heaping tsp. baking cocoa (like Hershey's or Ghirardelli or whatever you prefer)
4-5 heaping tsp. granulated sugar

Add about 4-6 oz boiling water and stir WELL. Add milk to about 8 oz.

***Plus you can make a jar of it, just put one part cocoa and 4-5 parts sugar and mix well. Place 5-6 tsp. in each cup and prepare as above

It is SO good and you know exactly what you're drinking.

Forget the inastant gratification and spend a little time making your favorite drink. Heat up a quart of milk and pour it into a blender. Add a wheel of "Ibarra" Mexican chocolate and turn on the blender. I's delicious.

You might also try getting a can of "Hershy's" cocoa powder and following the recipe for hot chocolate on the can. That's my daughters favorite hot chocolate recipe.

Spend a little time in preperation and you'll have a much more enjoyable experience.

Depending where you live there is a chocolate brand named Dagoba or Black & Green, either one of these chocolate mixes will be healthier than Nestles. You can find them at your local health food store.

Hope this helps. Try the Dagoba chocolate bars...they are tio die for.
