I'm in China..and I haven't really noticed that. They might ask you to eat something multiple times, but that's about it.

I'm an American living in China, and one of only 3 ex-pats in my company. I haven't noticed repetition in conversations of my co-workers, in Chinese or English. It might be that tonal inflections vary from province to province (Madarin has four, Cantonese has seven), people repeat to make sure that listeners understand better.

yea, that's a problem. my parents are from china (but from different parts in china). They like to remind me of little things constantly and they keep on repeating it until i actually say "okay, okay, i get it."
lol, sometimes i do it sometimes and i was born in california. :]

maybe, that's their tradition, if you read Analects of Confucius
, you may find several same sentnces , 2 chapters are completely the same
