It's called a mutt. And mutts are adorable. I know because I have three of them. No, they are not mixed lab or collie but they are all mixes and great dogs. Since it's not a breed, you can call it either! I kind of like Labradollie for the girl pups and Colliedor for the boys. ; )

If the mother was the collie it would be a collie cross lab. If the mother was a lab it would be a lab cross collie.
Its a cross between two breeds, so its a crossbreed and the correct way to name it is to write
collie x lab or lab x collie.
The cute made up names are confusing and don't tell you anything about what these mixes are like, or even what the two breeds are or which one was the mother.
With cross breeds that makes a huge difference to how the pups turn out.

Neither. It's either a cross-breed or a mongrel.

The first is generally used when the breed of one or both the parents are known.

Mongrel is used more often when there is no identifiable breed or when one or both of the parents were cross-breeds or mongrels.

The 'Labradoodle' and the 'Puggle' are both the result of deliberate cross-breeding in order to create a new breed. The former as a tailor-made guide dog for the blind and the latter as a perfect pet for so-called celebrities with more money than sense.

My personal view is that the Border Collie and the Labrador Retriever are fine as they are and good specimens of each of these breeds are perfectly suited to the jobs they were bred to do.

I think it's just a cross too
but I love the names
How about a collie/staffy cross?
Would that be a Stolly or a coffee?

sorry its just called one of a variety of names, such as a muttley, a mix, a crossbred, a mutt, a mongrel, a bitsa (bitsa this-bitsa that!) a heinz (57 varieties) a conacurbedga (conceived-on-a-curb-edge) or just plain old dog! whichever name takes your fancy at the time!!

it annoys me when people breed two unrelated breeds of dog together then call it a 'new breed' and have the cheek to charge overinflated prices, way above pedigree prices! such as a 'jack roodle' get real its just a jack russell x poodle!

It;s usually just called a Collie-cross. It's not recognised as a breed because it is a crossbreed, so you can call it whatever you want.

it's called a mutt. just like labrador poodle mixes and all those other dogs they're getting people to pay big money for. All those idiots are buying mutts and then the breeder comes up with a fancy name so they actually pay for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
