Roman meal co has been around for over 80 years and over those years have been best known for their whole grain and multigrain flours. It is a USA brand now with more than 90 bakeries there and internationally but was first established in Germany. The name Roman Meal Co. has been synonymous with health, nutrition and whole grains.
It is basically a mixture of wheat & rye as the idea came from it being what soldiers in the legions of ancient rome lived on. It is just a mixture of two or several grains. The most popular one being 100% whole grain.
It is still available, try the following website for more info and there are some ideas of grains for you:

Roman meal could derive from an old italian recipe..and could be once popular in those days. Your best bet is to obtain a recipe book that contain some ancient recipes. And can include escargot.

I used to eat roman meal as a kid and remember it as being sort of like bran. And yes I think it's still around in the oatmeal section of the store.

There is a product called Red River Cereal. It has all the kinds of seeds what you might be looking for. Just look at a box in the cereal section, and read it. This might help, I sure hope so.

I found this on the Roman Meal website.
"Based on the early diet of the Roman legionnaires, he developed Dr. Jackson’s Roman Health Meal. It was a breakfast mush of whole grain wheat, rye, bran, and flaxseed which he also used to make pancakes, muffins, and bread."
edited to add - You can order it from their website. A 25 lb bag of "Original-Wheat, Rye, Bran, Flax (Bulk)" costs $35, shipping included (probably just to US addresses!) https://www.romanmeal.com/pages/store.asp

It's 100 percent whole wheat flour so you can substitute it with any other brand of whole wheat flour.
